Quality Assurance Manager
Yoakum Packing Co Yoakum Packing Co Yoakum, TX Yoakum, TX Full-time Full-time $50,000 - $80,000 a year $50,000 - $80,000 a year Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for conducting all product testing, food safety audits, equipment testing to ensure compliance with HACCP and USDA requirements and any other associated testing and process validation connected with food quality and/or safety.
This position responsible for performing HACCP, SSOP and Quality Checks to ensure that product meets plant, USDA and customer expectations.
They also monitor the implementation of food safety and quality procedures on the production floor, report deficiencies and correct them.
Other duties assigned.
Responsibilities Monitors production staff's adherence in meeting product specification Works directly with production staff on testing protocols and requirements to meet and exceed USDA food quality and safety requirements.
Ensures production management is aware of any possible deviations from or violations of USDA regulations or HACCP requirements.
Assist in the testing and evaluation of new equipment and process instructions to effectively meet product specifications Conducts quality audits and product quality checks.
As directed, conducts mock and real time product recalls to test food safety and quality processes.
Monitor SOP's, SSOP's and GMP compliance of associates, perform HACCP procedures to comply with federal regulations.
Ensure products are made within product specifications by inspecting products.
Reviewing daily paperwork for accuracy and completeness and follow up as needed.
Maintain BRC approval and support BRC audits Additional duties as assigned Job Requirements Ability to read, write, speak English.
Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities effectively Problem-solving skills, good decision-making skills and attention to detail.
Able to work in an independent environment Able to work Monday through Friday, and occasional Saturday work Knowledge of meat cuts, product codes is preferred but not required Must have good communication and interpersonal skill and maintain a good working relationship with plant management, plant employees, and USDA/FSIS Ensures that proper sanitation procedures are utilized and that adequate sanitation tests are performed; provides troubleshooting efforts in the event of sanitation system failure.
Develops and maintains documentation of all required quality tests and activities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
